Year of Dreams

The recent years I've been using the yearly theme system by CGP Grey. If you don't know what it is, it's like New Year's resolutions, but better! You don't set a specific milestone, instead you set a "theme" you want to base your year around, like, books, friends, or anything, really.

I normally decide on my theme during the autumn months, since that's when the school year starts. Last year I chose "Year of Maintenance". The goal was to take some time to take care of myself and fix my environment, and in general to take some time and reflect. Did it work? Absolutely not, I'm in a worse state than I was last year. Whoops.

At any rate, this year I decided to tackle my biggest problem, head first: there's so. many things I find interesting and want to do, yet I've always been either too lazy or scared to do them. So what's the best time to take the first time than now? The name is "Year of Dreams", it might sound a bit corny but that's the goal. I want to pursue many (if not all) of my interests and see if I actually enjoy doing them-and if I'm good at them. I already did a start by doing a challenge: I've always thought artists are really cool, yet I also believed that I'm not good at drawing. Yet I didn't really draw a lot, so, what's a better way to see if I'm good (and if I can improve!) than drawing every day? Let's see how that goes down (preferably NOT with my hand in pain from the lots of drawing)

There's a lot more stuff I want to do, like photography, coding and designing cool software, content creation (this blog counts, no?) and music production. I'll try to pursue all of them this year (even if it sounds kind of overkill?) and hopefully be able to then chose the ones I actually liked. And if I end up having, instead of too many interests, too many hobbies, that's not a bad thing I think? (and even if it is, that's a problem for future me!)

So yeah, that's about it. I recommend you also try the yearly themes system, it may help you, or it may not, but there's never harm in trying something, right?
